VSI Sand Making Machine (Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher)
PCL Series
A vertical shaft impact crusher that makes sand by the stone-on-stone principle. Material enters a high-speed impeller and is thrown outward, forming a vortex between the rotor and the shell where it is reduced by repeated mutual impact and attrition. The product is cubical with a continuous grading. The same machine switches between rock-on-rock and rock-on-anvil chambers, trading particle shape against fines ratio.
- Stone-on-stone crushing gives a cubical product with few elongated particles and a continuous grading
- The rock-on-rock chamber wears slowly (the rock bed takes the wear); the anvil chamber gives a higher fines ratio — switchable on the same machine
- Impeller speed adjustable from 800 to 3000 r/min, covering coarse to fine sand on one machine
Key features
- Stone-on-stone crushing gives a cubical product with few elongated particles and a continuous grading
- The rock-on-rock chamber wears slowly (the rock bed takes the wear); the anvil chamber gives a higher fines ratio — switchable on the same machine
- Impeller speed adjustable from 800 to 3000 r/min, covering coarse to fine sand on one machine
- 12–360 t/h across 7 models, from small sand lines to large ones
- Dual-motor drive, balanced load, and a single motor fault does not stop production
- Compact with few service points; rotor and feed disc are quick-change assemblies

Selection note:Parameters above are standard PCL series figures for medium-hard material in the rock-on-rock chamber. An anvil chamber gives a finer product at slightly lower throughput, and capacity varies with material hardness, feed size and target fineness. Send the material, feed size and required capacity for a recommendation; final figures are confirmed by a test and the contract.
Applications
- Manufactured sand from limestone, river pebble, granite and basalt
- Aggregate shaping to cut flaky and elongated content
- Medium and fine crushing of hard and extra-hard materials — ore, refractories, calcined bauxite, corundum, glass raw material
- Particle shaping and sand making for cement and concrete aggregate
- Sand from recycled construction and demolition waste
Options & configuration
- Chamber type: rock-on-rock or rock-on-anvil, switchable
- Variable-frequency impeller speed control
- Wear parts in high-chrome iron or with tungsten-carbide inserts, selected against abrasiveness
- Single- or dual-motor versions
- Optional feeder, vibrating screen, sand washer and dust collector for a complete sand line
